Elementary/Early Middle School Chemistry and Physics

Upper Elementary and Early Middle School Chemistry and Physics This class will use the Charlotte Mason methodology to give your student an introduction to the fascinating world of chemistry and physics. Engaging the students with lectures, projects, and experiments, our studies will cover atoms, molecules, simple chemicals, laws of motion, electricity, magnetism, and simple machines. We will make lava lamps, build a periscope, grow crystals, create our own solar powered oven and more!

Rhonda Gatewood, mother of four, has been homeschooling since 2003.   She received her B.S. in Biology with an interdisciplinary minor in Chemistry and Mathematics from Florida State University where she went on to earn an M.B.A. in Business Administration. A native Floridian, Mrs. Gatewood’s passion is to promote awareness, understanding, and respect of our local environment.  Mrs. Gatewood’s teaching style is to develop a student’s love of learning, rather than promoting rote memory. Relaxed, fun, collaborative lessons with a unit study-type engagement is her preferred method of instruction.
