Once Upon A Time – Writing at Libertas Academy

Once Upon A Time…

A Writing & Language Arts Study based on Fables, Myths and Fairy Tales

Encourage creativity through classic literature while learning to write with structure and style! The Institute for Excellence in Writing’s award-winning, theme-based writing instruction for late-elementary and early middle-school age students utilizes classic characters and their adventures to capture student imaginations and provide rich writing content.

The interdisciplinary lessons allow students to improve the strength and depth of their writing with supplemental history and literature exposure. This combination is excellent for broadening subject knowledge while studying the art of writing! Students will learn how to take notes, make outlines, summarize narrative stories and references, write from pictures, and compose their own imaginative tales.

This course will also include grammar and vocabulary study, public speaking, and critical thinking through the study of the children’s classic tale, Charlotte’s Web.
