Libertas Academy Elementary Writing, Vocabulary, and Grammar

All Things Fun & Fascinating…

A Writing & Language Arts Study based on Capturing Your Child’s Imagination

Encourage creativity through exposure to fun and fascinating topics while learning to write with structure and style! The Institute for Excellence in Writing’s award-winning, theme-based writing instruction for early-elementary age students utilizes humorous characters, cunning creatures, and meritorious men of history to capture student imaginations and provide rich writing content.

The interdisciplinary lessons allow students to improve the strength and depth of their writing with supplemental exposure to history, science, poetry, and classic literature. This combination is excellent for broadening subject knowledge while studying the art of writing! Students will learn how to take notes, create outlines, summarize narratives and references, write from pictures, and MORE.

This course will also include vocabulary and grammar study, public speaking, and critical thinking!

Best Children’s Consignment Sale

Having just had my 5th baby (6 years after being “done”) I have realized I haven’t been as prepared as with my past children. I do not have “hand me downs” because I gave them all away.  I did not buy much, well, because I figured she could just wear diapers all the time.

Now that she is here, I would like her to look decent, but do not want to spend a lot of money.  The answer?  The BEST Children’s Consignment Sale. (Voted the best in Orlando 3 years in a row.)

My friend (who is the mother to my almost 13 year old’s BFF) has the largest, most organized, incredible consignment business.  You can sell your used items, or just go and buy.  They only accept clothes, toys, books, homeschool supplies, shoes, and more, that is in great condition.

I am excited they are selling this coming March 12th.  Just in time for spring and summer clothes shopping!

Check out the link below for more information.  Hope to see you there!

Human Anatomy & Physiology

A Hands-on Study of the Human Body

Join us for a fascinating in-depth exploration of God’s wonderful creation – the human body – using award-winning materials from Apologia Science to delight and inspire your Upper-elementary and beginning Middle School student! Throughout this study, students will become true scientists as they learn about the amazing and intricate workings of the human body that God has created.

Apologia’s Exploring Creation with Human Anatomy and Physiology is an introductory, yet impressively in-depth, anatomy and physiology study that gives glory to God as students discover all that goes on inside their bodies.

Beginning with a brief history of medicine and a peek into cells and DNA, students will voyage through fourteen lessons covering many subjects, such as the body systems: skeletal, muscular, respiratory, digestive, cardiovascular, nervous, and MORE!

Class time will be devoted to experiments, activities, and introduction of topics. Homework will include reading, notebooking, and varied reinforcing activities.

To conclude our year-long adventure into God’s wonderful creation, students will participate in several introductory organ dissections!

Newest Additions

Here are a few of my most recent additions.

Caroline Rae was born on Christmas Eve.

So this is how homeschooling looks now.

I am also changing up some of the homeschool program I run.  Check out our new website!

We are muddling our way through, morning by morning, as we learn what life is like now with our baby girl.  The important thing is we love her.  A lot.
